Import assets from an O&M manual (AI)
Upload a manual or commissioning pack and the equipment, service plan and spares are created in the register for you.
On the Assets page, Import from manual takes a PDF (up to 40 MB; the first 80 pages are read, scanned pages are read as images). Optionally pick the property, client, location and the installed/commissioned date — that date starts each asset's service clock and warranty.
The AI reads the document and creates every asset straight away: name, category, make/model/serial where stated, criticality, design life, the planned tasks with their intervals (weekly, quarterly, annual…), and the recommended spares with part numbers. The register's service interval is set from the main service task; everything else sits on the asset's Service plan & spares card with a link back to the manual. A note is logged on each asset so you can see where it came from.
When it finishes you get the list of created assets plus any warnings (e.g. "no serial number stated"). Not right? Undo import removes everything that run created. Imports are listed under the dialog's history and the manual itself is filed in the File Hub.
